About us

Raber Township came into existence in 1895. The first supervisor was W.D. Hossack. John F. Goetz was the township clerk, and John Stevenson, the township treasurer. The town of Raber was located mainly in the area where the present tavern is today, with some homes built as far as the foot of the big hill. The first school was located just a little north of the Ted Fireck home and was only used a very short time.  With the arrival of the mill people in Raber, a new school was built on the site of the present day Carl Young home.  The first saloon was situated near the water.  It was remodelled into a store when Mud Lake Co. came into Raber.
